DOING GOOD IN THE HOOD
AT A GLANCE
A Bit of Background
We know that all it takes to make a difference in the world is a little motivation and support. For over 6 years, we have been committed to making an impact in our communities. Doing Good In The Hood is not just a catchy name, it is what we do. Our organization started in 2014 with a group of Facebook friends that had only one mission in mind, and that was to serve. Over the years, we have grown into a multi- functioning, non profit operation that serves hundreds of families, on a monthly basis.
Most of the families that we serve live in communities that are often forgotten about.
Our Doing Good in the Hood volunteers are always up for the challenge, When we visit these communities. we take day to day necessities like Toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, razors, personal hygiene items, hair care products, deodorant, sanitizer, mask, household items , clothes, shoes, can and dry foods, school supplies and more!
None of this would be possible without volunteers, donors, and our sponsors. This joint effort allows us to address a lot of the challenges many families face today. Our ultimate goal is to foster love, support, and unity in the communities.

One Step at a Time
Helping The Community
Doing Good in the Hood, INC is a 501c3 non profit organization. Our mission is to serve communities through direct outreach. All items purchased and donated are distributed free within the distressed communities that we serve.
Monthly efforts have included full Thanksgiving meal items, toys and bikes at Christmas, back to school supplies, toiletries and other items necessary for survival.
Over the years, our organization has expanded from Georgia to Florida. We have also provided essential supplies to the Bahamas, immediately after Hurricane Dorian.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic our efforts were scaled back momentarily. We have since resumed and the need is much greater than before. We are back to serving the community while following the CDC guidelines by directing our activities and the continued assistance of new volunteers to assist at community events.
We are excited to announce that Doing Good in the Hood, Inc has received a Local Community Grant in the amount of $1,000 from Walmart Giving! Walmart local community grants are awarded through an open application process and provide funding directly from Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities to local organizations in the U.S. Together, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have provided more than $1 billion in cash and in-kind to support programs that align with their philanthropic priorities. We are proud to be a Walmart grantee, and hope to use this grant to advance our ambitious commitments and goals within the priority areas of opportunity, sustainability, and community.
